Our Mission

The mission of Saint Philip Neri School is to build the body of Christ by promoting academic, social, and spiritual growth in a challenging educational environment.

Grades and Curriculum

Pre-Kindergarten
All-Day 4-5 Year Olds

Our Pre-Kindergarten program is exemplary in allowing the child to grow and develop with a Christian mindset. Early learning literacy is taught, along with plenty of outdoor and indoor specials, such a music and PE. Our older students are always interacting to help and nuture the young children, or just cheer them up with a smile.

Kindergarten builds upon this foundation, where your child is guided on how to work independently and collectively with ample time to learn through play. The curricular emphasis turns to reading, writing, and grade-appropriate math principles, inspired by our Catholic faith. Families work alongside teachers to guide students on organizational skills and independent learning. Upon completion, your child will be first grade ready, confident, and prepared to continue learning.

All early childhood classrooms are equipped with engaging learning centers, dedicated outdoor play spaces, interactive white boards, and student access to technology.

Elementary School

A walk through St. Philip Neri elementary classrooms finds students reading classic stories, searching and presenting notable Catholic social justice heroes, designing a Halloween haunted house, learning key math skills and taking a walk through Nebraska’s history. Through exploration, discovery, and reflection, St. Philip Neri encourages academic excellence, personal development, and spiritual formation.

Parents partner with teachers to help students develop organizational skills and independence in school work, so that each child realizes their God-given potential. At every grade level, teachers surround students with kindness, grace, encouragment, and support in the core subjects of Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Religion. Students are encouraged to process knowledge and understanding not only by facts and truths, but also by values and beliefs.

Buddy System

One of the best parts about being a small school is our buddy system. Our older students are always interacting to help and nurture the young children, or just cheer them up with a smile. An older grade teams up with a younger grade to help them along. For example, 5th and 1st grades are teams, and one of their favorite times of year is celebrating a Thanksgiving feast together. They make placemats and have a jolly time.

Middle School

Primed for success beyond the doors of St. Philip Neri the middle school program prepares students for academic success in high school, while encouraging students to navigate the social and emotional challenges of adolescence. In middle school, your student learns to hold his/herself to high academic standards, demonstrate critical thinkinking in all subjects, and create, collaborate, and communicate. Students are challenged to be their own advocate in the classroom and among their peers. With a continued emphasis on building Catholic character through authentic experiences, St. Philip Neri middle school teachers help students enrich their faith and promote goodness, discipline, and knowledge.

A Day in the Classroom

A typical day in middle school involves hands-on, experiential learning in the science lab and integrated technology with their personal Chromebooks, round table discussions in Language Arts class, and serving as lectors and servers during an all-school Mass.

Students in middle school switch classes between their lessons.  Each class is taught by a teacher who has a specialty in the field they teach.  All students take courses in English, Literature, History, Theology, Math, and Science four to five times per week.
