We have HUGE news. The Heartbeat Act has passed the first major hurdle! On Wednesday, February 22nd, the Health & Human Services Committee voted to advance LB626, the Nebraska Heartbeat Act, to the floor for debate.
The Committee voted four in favor, two against, while State Senator Lynne Walz was absent. If you have a moment, please send a note of thanks to the Committee members for helping Nebraska get one step closer to protecting preborn babies and their hearts. Committee Members in Support Chair Ben Hansen ([email protected]); Senator Beau Ballard ([email protected]); Senator Brian Hardin [email protected]); Senator Merv Riepe ([email protected]) Committee Members in Opposition Senator Machaela Cavanaugh ([email protected]); Senator Jen Day ([email protected]) When the Heartbeat Act comes to the floor, its opponents will use every tactic to prevent its passage.
